The foreign worker levy (FWL), commonly known as ‘levy’, is a pricing mechanism to regulate the number of foreign workers (including foreign domestic workers) in Singapore. FWL is paid for foreign workers instead of CPF.

The amount owed is determined by the worker’s qualification(s) (skilled/unskilled) and, in the manufacturing and services sectors, the quota. Lower levies are paid for skilled foreign workers who have the necessary academic and skill-based qualifications, years of experience and salary.

At the moment FWL is not automatically added to payslips for foreign workers. You will need to add it by going to the individual employee’s profile and clicking on Add next to Regular Inputs. SimplePay also does not currently calculate FWL automatically, so you will need to enter an amount.
